APR – Taux Annuel Effectif Global (TAEG)
L’APR (Annual Percentage Rate), ou TAEG en français, correspond au taux d’intérêt annuel total appliqué à un crédit. Il inclut non seulement les intérêts, mais aussi les frais annexes (dossier, assurance, etc.). C’est un bon indicateur pour comparer différentes offres de prêt.
ATM – Distributeur automatique
L’ATM (Automated Teller Machine) désigne un distributeur automatique de billets. Même si leur usage diminue, ils restent bien pratiques en voyage. Avec une carte Tap connectée à des comptes en euros, dollars ou crypto, vous pouvez retirer facilement dans la devise locale.
BACS – Système de paiements automatisés au Royaume-Uni

BIC – Code d’identification bancaire
Le BIC (Bank Identifier Code) est un code unique qui identifie une banque dans les transactions internationales. En duo avec l’IBAN, il permet de s’assurer que l’argent envoyé arrive au bon endroit, que ce soit pour une entreprise ou un particulier.
Dividende
Un dividende est une part des bénéfices qu’une entreprise reverse à ses actionnaires. Si vous possédez des actions, vous pouvez donc recevoir un revenu complémentaire sous forme de dividendes, proportionnel à votre investissement.
FCA – Autorité de régulation financière au Royaume-Uni
La FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) est le gendarme financier britannique. Elle surveille les institutions pour garantir la protection des consommateurs, assurer la stabilité du marché et encourager la concurrence saine. Son équivalent américain est la SEC.
Fonds propres (Equity)
Les fonds propres, ou equity, désignent la valeur nette d’une entreprise ou d’un bien. Pour une entreprise, il s’agit de la part que vous détenez via vos actions. En immobilier, c’est la différence entre la valeur du bien et le montant de l’emprunt qu’il reste à rembourser.
Taux de change (Exchange rate)
Le taux de change indique combien une monnaie vaut par rapport à une autre. Il influence le coût de vos achats à l’étranger, vos virements internationaux ou encore vos conversions crypto-fiat.
IBAN – Numéro de compte bancaire international
L’IBAN est un identifiant unique pour les comptes bancaires dans le cadre de paiements internationaux. Il contient un code pays, deux chiffres de contrôle, et des infos sur la banque et le compte. Indispensable pour les virements à l’étranger.
ISA – Compte épargne individuel (UK)
L’ISA (Individual Savings Account) est un compte d’épargne britannique défiscalisé, équivalent au Plan Épargne en Actions (PEA) ou au Livret A en France. Il permet d’épargner ou d’investir sans impôts sur les intérêts ou les gains.
Inflation
L’inflation correspond à la hausse générale des prix dans une économie. Cela signifie que votre argent a moins de pouvoir d’achat qu’avant. Surveillez-la bien, car elle peut ronger la valeur de votre épargne.
Fonds communs de placement (Mutual Fund)
Un fonds commun de placement regroupe l’argent de plusieurs investisseurs pour acheter un panier diversifié d’actions ou d’obligations. C’est un bon moyen d’accéder à une gestion professionnelle sans devoir tout suivre soi-même.
Revenu net (Net income)
Le revenu net, ou résultat net, correspond à ce qui reste après avoir payé toutes les dépenses. C’est un indicateur clé de la rentabilité d’une entreprise — ou tout simplement de la santé de votre compte bancaire.
Remise de fonds (Remittance)
Une remittance est un virement international, souvent de particulier à particulier (comme un parent qui envoie de l’argent à sa famille à l’étranger). Ce terme est très utilisé pour désigner les transferts vers les pays en développement.
Roth IRA – Compte de retraite défiscalisé (USA)
Le Roth IRA est un compte de retraite américain financé avec de l’argent déjà imposé. Les retraits à la retraite sont donc exonérés d’impôts. Il est souvent comparé au PER individuel ou à l’assurance-vie en France.
SEC – Autorité des marchés financiers (USA)
La SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) est le régulateur financier des États-Unis. Elle protège les investisseurs, veille à la transparence des marchés, et encadre les courtiers, les bourses et les fonds d’investissement.
SEPA – Zone de paiements en euros
La zone SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) regroupe les pays de l’UE et de l’EEE, et harmonise les virements en euros. Grâce à SEPA, un virement entre Paris et Lisbonne est aussi simple qu’un virement entre deux banques françaises.
Code SWIFT – Réseau bancaire sécurisé
Le code SWIFT est un identifiant international utilisé par les banques pour s’échanger des instructions de paiement en toute sécurité. C’est une sorte de réseau confidentiel mondial qui permet à votre argent d’arriver au bon endroit, rapidement et sans erreur.
